The Classic and Tasty Italian Traditional Green or Yellow Lasagna, famous all over in the world: just like Mama Isa used to make!!!

In Italy we call 'lasagne' (the word in Italian is always plural!!!)

A Little Bit of History

• The Traditional "Lasagne alla Bolognese" is a super tasty dish, originated in Bologna (Italy).

• During the Middle Ages "lasagna" - a type of pasta, rectangular and super thin - was one of the most popular pasta shapes.

• But the first "lasagne" (in ancient Greek "laganon") dates back to the Greek times.

• The traditional Lasagna consists of many layers of thin green spinach pasta (from scratch) and between each layer a delicious slow simmered "Ragù alla Bolognese" (the authentic recipe for Bolognese sauce) and the Italian Béchamel Sauce.

• The top is sprinkled with Parmigiano Reggiano DOP cheese.

 

What Is the Difference Between American-style Lasagna and Italian-style Lasagna (or Lasagna alla Bolognese)?

• American style lasagna is a monstrosity of layers and upon each layer of mozzarella cheese (oh....... no!), ricotta cheese (no.....please!), and whatever else cooks can put between layers of curly-edged, super thick, and dry pasta sheets (please the real lasagna is made only with fresh pasta from scratch).

• So during the lasagna class you will learn how to make the traditional original authentic lasagna alla bolognese: a delicious dish made of multiple layerings of fresh spinach noodles, filled with an authentic Ragù Bolognese sauce and creamy Italian Béchamel Sauce.

LASAGNA CLASS DESCRIPTION

- This Lasagna Class will keep you engaged with Italian recipes for a traditional and genuine and authentic 'Green Lasagna alla Bolognese' with Bolognese meat sauce Ragu' from scratch

- You will learn how to make an authentic Ragù (Bolognese Sauce Ragout (Ragù in Italian);

- You will learn the secrets to make a special Italian Bechamel Sauce (Besciamella in Italian);

- Learning about how to make the fresh green pasta - with spinach, flour, egg, nutmeg - or egg pasta and the regular fresh egg lasagna noodles;

- Ideas for lasagna fillings;

- How to bake the traditional Lasagna;

- Every lasagna class lasts 3 hours and is taught in English with recipes in English.

The class is completely hands-on and the menu will be adapted on your tastes! If you are vegetarian, I can offer you a Vegetarian Lasagna (with fresh lasagna noodles, Spinach, Besciamelle Sauce, Parmigiano Reggiano or Grana Padano cheese,the real Italian Parmesan)
