Rice was introduced to Italy during the twelfth century but in 1390 rice cultivation was so common in the provinces of Verona and Milan, and later rice spreaded in Piedmont region.

The Northern Italians started to love rice and create new recipes.

The Northern Italy has the perfect climate to flourish rice.

Actually the biggest rice production in Europe is exactly in Italy.

The most famous 'risaie', paddy fields, are situated in the Northern part of the country where several types of rice are produced (arborio rice, carnaroli rice, vialone nano rice).

And actually Italy is the largest rice producer in Europe.

This risotto class is a real celebration of one of the world's best-loved classic dishes
